Jerusalem In My Heart have just released Mo7it Al-Mo7it, and listening to the record may simply hint at the existence of a talented instrumental band. A more appropriate description, however -- known so far to only a select and lucky few in their hometown of Montreal -- is that they are an ever-changing artistic project, which also provides fascinating fodder for cultural commentary. As a true multimedia art installation, they are a sight to behold in a live setting, and also represent a modern update on traditional Arabic music and songwriting, with additional multicultural counterpoints.

Remix City sifts through mountains of remix trash so you don't have to, in an attempt to find those that contribute something original to their originals. Indie rockers Breton get a tranced out remix by Busy P and Trent Reznor's How To Destroy Angels gets a minimal track minimally reworked again by Dave Sitek. You can stream the entire new An Omen EP from HTDA as well.

Breton + Busy P

French electrohouse producer (and manager of Daft Punk and Justice, amongst other things) Busy P builds on Breton's "Governing Correctly" with a bass-driven expansion upon the more straight-laced, vocal-driven rock band original. The track's trancey potentials are fully realized as the track goes in and out of extended breaks and electro builds, finally concluding with an ending two minutes that are rich, satisfying, and completely realized ideas.

Hands In The Dark was born at the end of a boozy party in 2010! What could have ended up just a brilliant idea and a short-lived story became the start of a great musical adventure, bringing together two lovers of "unclassified" music. Hands In the Dark pulls together various sounds with the common feature of mixing pop and experimental music. Grouping them under the title 'Expop' music, HITD has quickly reached its 12th release comprising CD's, vinyl and even tapes. HITD also means ''DIY''. We build everything from top to bottom, from contact with the bands we love to sending out the parcels. We always preserve our freedom with no artistic pressure. Such is the great enterprise of HITD. In short, a French label with a certain je-ne-sais-quoi... Thanks to Amélie and Alice...

Curation & Translation by Morgan & Onito; Additional Translation by Jeff Diteman Hands In The Dark est né fin 2010 lors d'une soirée arrosée!

Expectations can be a tricky best, especially when it comes to films. The trailer for Mathieu Kassovitz's newest film, Rebellion, really makes it seem like a wartime story. In a sense, Rebellion is a wartime story, insomuch that it is set against the tense occupation...

Los Angeles via Portland dance band YACHT are always staying busy, but the attention they're receiving is next-level as of late. This compound post samples the music video for their newest offering, "Le Goudron" -- a cover of a song by French singer Brigitte Fontaine -- and their current front-page-of-Hulu fame.

FROM YACHT'S PRESS RELEASE: "Le Goudron" is a surrealist revolutionary song originally recorded in 1969 with The Art Ensemble of Chicago; YACHT has reinvented its naive-apocalyptic candor for a neon-soaked dance floor, their preferred autonomous zone."... Of the song, YACHT says, "we can only hope that our frantic, starry-eyed cribbing of Brigitte Fontaine makes us better people. In the meantime, we wanted to pay homage."

YACHT - "Le Goudron" (Briggite Fontaine Cover)

YACHT have transformed Briggite Fontaine's acoustic track into a dancefloor single, in the name of reviving a revolutionary dance anthem. See the French lyrics, with a rough English translation, below; this is not a revolutionary song in the political sense, but in the sensually-aware sense.
