The Bouncing Souls – The Gold Record Album Review

Share

These guys have been around for fucking ever. At first I was like, “Bouncing Souls… why does that name sound familiar?” I probably saw them at the Warped Tour twelve years ago, that’s why. The Souls seem to be really into their hometown, which I guess you’ve got to respect for. But this is horrible poetry of the highest magnitude. It’s almost like punk meets Bon Jovi. At points, you almost think they’ll start chanting U-S-A. There’s a song called “Pizza Song.” I shit you not. It’s about this family-owned pizza shop, which is kind of hilarious, but not intentionally. One of the brothers is fucking the other’s girlfriend or something — your typical pizza-infused love triangle cut. Every disc’s gotta have one.
