Justin Gibbens is an artist we’ve mentioned before, but his new show, Hydras and Basilisks, is certainly worth mentioning again. Justin has been making amazing work throughout Washington for years, and his new show at Punch does not disappoint. Using delicate layers of watercolor, gouache, graphite, and oolong tea, Justin creates stunning naturalist paintings of animal/monster hybrids. For this show, Justin has also painted the very walls of the gallery so his pieces extend off the paper and into the surrounding space. This one is really not to be missed, get yourself to this show before June 26th!
