The Whore Moans – Hello From The Radio Wasteland! Album Review

From the first few bars on “Nerve Tonic!,” the opening track from the Whore Moans’ album, Hello From the Radio Wasteland!, the listener knows that he or she is in for a treat. Like the similarly-minded Hour of the Wolf, the Whore Moans play up a brand of raw energetic punk rock that has been lost thanks to lesser ‘tween pop-punk bands wearing too much dayglo.

While the band’s strengths are perfectly captured in being a really rocking band, songs like “Fingers and Martyrs” signify the Whore Moans’ ability to play something melodic and catchy. “Rise and Shine””has elements of early Elvis Costello while keeping consistent with the Whore Moans’ style.

There are 1,500 bands out there right now that rely on being a pre-packaged “rock” band for the sake of becoming Hot Topic’s answer to Jonas Brothers. The Whore Moans will fuck all of them up.
