I’m a sucker for fresh illustration.
And if it’s fresh illustration drawn by a narrative hand, it’s over.

So when I discovered Alex Hem’s matchboxes at Gallery 1988‘s Beastie Tribute last month, I was instinctively driven to like the guy. You can be the first to check out his latest tonight at Roq La Rue in Seattle. Then, you can come back and tell me about it since I’m a thousand miles away from there.

I’m actually really sorry I’m missing it. His shxt intrigues me. At least for his previous work, it’s like the mild-mannered illustrator side of him is constantly at war with his street art Hyde. God, I hope he keeps that. Domesticated artists make me sick.
