Ladies and Germs,
This is Pol Dudley. I’m no fan of introductions but let it be known that I am prepared to change your life by sharing things with you that I have taken from others. Like your loved one’s virginity. But really more like SICK-ass, LIFE-altering work by artists who I feel could leave you brain damaged with their skill. Pieces that brand you. Pieces that make you feel like insignificant scum, asking yourself why you sit on your ass all day when you could be out and about contriving the most ridiculous installations. Pieces that make even the lowliest cats feel like revolutionaries (cause most of the time, they are).
That’s why I’m thrilled the Redefine team decided to pass the mic over my way so I can do my run of show-and-tell once in awhile. Believe me when I say I ain’t about to feed you something that’s not worth your while.
With that said, I’ll say this.
Slumdog Millionaire. I mean, I’ll be honest, I was a little reluctant to do my first post on a movie. But holy shxt. This film was magic. I caught it late last week, and I swear every shot was a photographic masterpiece. Yeayea, I know it came out last November, but I couldn’t wait to do my part in spreading the love. Director Danny Boyle of Trainspotting collaborates with Director of Photography Anthony Dod Mantel to give birth to the most brilliantly composed visuals I’ve seen since Amelie.
Makes a girl want to get out there and shoot.
You’re gonna dig it. The hype’s well deserved. So if you haven’t seen it already, see it already.
Glad to be on board,
poldudley
